Recognition in the Toastmasters Educational Program, signifying successful completion of the first stage of the Communication Track.

To qualify, Toastmasters complete the ten speech projects described in the Competent Communication Manual, which provide training and practice in basic speechcraft, including speechwriting, speech delivery, research, and visual aids.

Competent Communicator is a prerequisite for advancement, in the Leadership Track, to Advanced Leader Bronze.

Competent Toastmaster to Competent CommunicatorEdit

In 2006, Toastmasters International changed the designation Competent Toastmaster to Competent Communicator [1]. The criteria needed to earn the recognition remain unchanged.
